The Department of Finance of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University is noted both for its faculty’s outstanding teaching, research and business experience and for its diverse course offerings ranging from corporate strategy and asset management to international banking and financial derivatives.
The department comprises approximately 22 full-time faculty members who hold doctorates from many of the top business schools in the United States and Europe. The faculty’s classroom teaching is regularly enhanced by their experience drawn from participation in executive education programs at such organizations as AT&T, IBM, NationsBank, Bank South, SouthTrust and United Parcel Service as well as internationally in Europe and South America.
Research productivity is high, and our faculty publish in prestigious academic journals, including the American Economic Review, Journal of Business, Journal of Economic Theory, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Law and Economics, Journal of Monetary Economics, Management Science, RAND Journal of Economics and Review of Financial Studies as well as in widely read applied business journals such as Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Applied Corporate Finance and Journal of Investment Management. Faculty members also have written various college texts and professional books on finance.
